Thank you! Every article about Avatar is full of “nobody cares about/remembers anything about Avatar” but the truth that is all too often ignored is that it’s really just a good time. It’s a fun movie. Spectacle is the right word. It’s got great visuals and awesome action. It’s an epic movie. It’s not a deep character…
Musk can have a guy in a suit onstage and announce he’s building a robot and get breathless internet blog coverage, while “guy who makes movies says he’s going to make more movies” is somehow met with incredulousness.
You’re right; he’s super divisive (baffling to me, in the sense that so many people buy the hype), but he still has more people believing his hype than Cameron.
Stoked.
He’s got the resources and has already sunk them into making these four sequels; we’re aggressively refusing to believe it, but these movies are happening whether or not we’re on board.
I liked Avatar well enough when I saw it the first time, but I recently went and saw the rerelease and man is it a great fucking movie. People go on about the story being a rip off, belying their limited understanding of stories. They complain that great CGI doesn’t make a movie great, and then complain about…
They never shot anything for that, there’s everything shot for Avatar 3 chunks of 4
Agreed, although I’ll always appreciate the spirit of experimentation that pushed them to do something different (even if it didn’t always work).
i mean yeah, many people. it’s literally doing quite well at the box office as we speak.
...yeah, he announced four sequels after the first one came out. It’s so weird that people keep acting surprised James Cameron is making some movies he said he’d make.
I recently busted out my Avatar DVD and popped it in the ol’ player and, lemme tell ya, as much as this movie gets shit on for being derivative, forgettable, corny, etc. ... it’s still fun as hell.
*spots “no one cares about Avatar” reference, takes a shot*
You know we can all see your comment history, right? You’re not fooling anyone . . .
I think we need to wait for all the facts here before jumping to conclusions here. It’s very easy to get wrapped up in a narrative, it’s more measured to wait for all the facts to base a conclusion.
How about we wait to see what happened? Shooting coming from the car at the police. Girl in full tactical gear running at the police?
“[T]he teen ‘may have been also involved in some of the fire exchange,’ possibly ‘firing back at the deputies.’” !!!
15 and missing or not, there is no world where running towards police officers in tactical gear in the middle of a shootout doesn’t get you killed. Hope the dog’s okay.
So for all of you here still that are on team Kap I mean I am sure he is finally registered to vote so he can help right? I mean he wouldn’t dare take a picture with the late John Lewis & forget to do the bare minimum of actually voting in an election right? I mean if John Lewis can devote his life to the fight for…
Point Break, one of the best action movies ever, was made by a woman. You made a shitty movie. Stop making excuses.
I’m glad Rihanna’s doing the Bowl, I really am... but... does she have any new music?
