Musk can have a guy in a suit onstage and announce he’s building a robot and get breathless internet blog coverage, while “guy who makes movies says he’s going to make more movies” is somehow met with incredulousness.

You’re right; he’s super divisive (baffling to me, in the sense that so many people buy the hype), but he still has more people believing his hype than Cameron. 

Stoked. 

He’s got the resources and has already sunk them into making these four sequels; we’re aggressively refusing to believe it, but these movies are happening whether or not we’re on board.

I liked Avatar well enough when I saw it the first time, but I recently went and saw the rerelease and man is it a great fucking movie. I recently busted out my Avatar DVD and popped it in the ol’ player and, lemme tell ya, as much as this movie gets shit on for being derivative, forgettable, corny, etc. ... it’s still fun as hell.

I think we need to wait for all the facts here before jumping to conclusions here. It’s very easy to get wrapped up in a narrative, it’s more measured to wait for all the facts to base a conclusion.
