You have spent no time in either place but you’re telling me, who did live in Mississippi in the 80s, that I am wrong just based on some population stats you found on Wikipedia?

But why aren't any of the main characters black?!

Please tell me how neither Thriller or Rockwell’s Somebody’s Watching Me not been a factor in either Lucas or Erica’s life? No Mary Jane Girls? Atari? Run DMC? Whodini? Soul Train? New York Hot Tracks?

Are you under the impression that our criminal justice system is infallible? Plenty of people are convicted by a jury who are later found to be innocent.

Since we are on the topic of Lists here is another...

“he’s a self-identified political “moderate” (ostentatious little term for “Republican”)

There is a difference between “Believe her” and “Believe her no matter how much evidence come out that she is liar”.

SJWs on twitter are so predictable: When in doubt, start a blacklist and bullying campaign! After all, it worked so well against Rogan and Chapelle. Who cares what a jury thinks? Only my outrage matters!

Imagine your job or your hobby is compiling a list of people that liked a tweet. And no, this case does not set a precedent and does nothing for further cases like it. It’s actually a reminder that people will watch paint dry and flies fuck if said paint/flies are celebrities.

Omg everyone can fuck all the way off with this nonsense.   Anyone who watched the trial know she lied about EVERYTHING.   She is the one with a DV history, she is the one who was abusing him.   He may be a shitty person but he did not abuse her.   She is facing perjury trials in Australia and the UK and probably here

I was with you until the last sentence. There are a lot of feminists who agree with all your points. Feminism is an overall good.

My point is...I don’t know many racists who have murdered. I know hundreds of racists who don’t see themselves as racists because they don’t murder anyone. But they do discriminate and harm minorities unemployment and society in general. And in terms of causation, these masses of not-murdering racists ABSOLUTELY

Ugh. People committed to diversity need to include a lesson on intent vs. impact in their training. Stop hiding behind what they meant or “what’s in their heart” and take responsibility for the hurt or harm they caused.

I worked at a school, not a private school, with a strong commitment to “diversity” where leadership went out of their way to excuse and minimize racist comments made by white employees and families. “Oh they didn’t mean anything by that,” “it was just a joke,” and “you shouldn’t assume the worst intentions.” When

I think the issue is most people see these incidents as other-wordly... Eg cop kills black guy? Then “well I wouldn’t kill a black guy so therefore I am not racist... I even have a black friend...”

The only thing I’d suggest is that this line doesn’t strike me as correct: “Their first instinct was to react with fear...”.  I think rather, their first reaction was to act like they were in charge and that the person they were talking to was not their equal.

Black shows are cheaper to produce. So when you are starting out your network, you produce a bunch of Black shows, build an audience. Once the foundation is set, you upgrade to a White Teen centered show, and shift your focus to White people. After the Teen show is solid, you move to a Family type show, before

No sorry black men are too scary and asian men aren’t manly enough, and that is all the types of POC so they had no options

This is such a cop out.  Even in the 1990s people called out Friends for its lack of diversity.  TPTB just didn’t care and didn’t want to listen.  People called out Seinfeld and Sex and the City too.  Just because the “mainstream” didn’t listen to the people calling them out doesn’t mean everyone accepted it because

Does it also occur to you that the women could've dated men of color?
