The first four episodes are dark and weird.

With episode 5, it throws all of that out the window and goes more traditional family sitcom, with a splash of Kapnek. It isn’t perfect, but the tone just... feels better.

And it gives Flynn his like 18th straight season of starring - I remember reading on Deadline that he wrapped on The Middle on a Friday, then started filming Abby’s that Monday.

Whoa. I expected them to cancel one of Last Man on Earth, Mick, and 99. Not all three. Jeez, they must think they have a big comedy slate next season.
