Yeah, as if mislabeling her as a boomer invalidates my point that she’s too old. People would rather obsess over the trivial than think about real consequences. I know some of these same commenters in CA voted for her in 2018 and feel stupid about it now.
I don’t have the brand loyalty like my parents. I’ve owned a VW, an Acura, two Toyotas, an Isuzu, two Kias, a Honda and a Subaru.
I think we should expect more than just “meh.”
Agreed, it was the one compelling argument he had to make against her, as their policy differences are too minute for the common voter.
I would argue that her failure to retire probably did constitute a devastating blow to liberal or progressive politics for decades to come...
Part of it is a lack of succession planning.
Farthest I lived from work was 40 backcountry miles and I didn’t mind the commute because there was no traffic. I loved being that far from work because it was like another world away from the office. Plus I really hate running into coworkers at the store on the weekends. Reminds me of the temporary nature of weekends.
Same, I’m traveling until my knees give out (there’s lots of stairs involved in traveling around the world) and then I’ll do river cruises until I’m sick of that, then I’ll finally rewatch Buffy after spending three hours every morning sipping coffee at Denny’s or something.
This guy needs a luxobarge that’s priced like an economy car...
My mom has been retired for nearly 20 years and has lived her best life, and I’m planning on modeling my late-life choices after her.
California has a Top-Two system where the top two vote getters in the primary move to the general, regardless of party. The general in 2018 was between her and Kevin de Leon, another Democrat termed out of his state senate job who was far more progressive.
That really is a beautifully written sentence.
That’s even worse!
I’d be reading all day and tipsy by noon for my midday nap on a sunny beach in the Caribbean.
This baby boomer generation is truly the worst generation in the same way their parents was the Greatest Generation. I don’t understand why so many 80 year olds want to stay in their jobs. They’re rich enough to retire. Feinstein could’ve gone out on a high note in 2018, but chose to run again.
As soon as I saw the non-dairy, I thought it was a shout-out, like “they know their target customers.” I don’t eat a lot of non-dairy ice cream because it still reminds me of the night-ruining dairy kind, but I do think B&J’s has the best.
“Wait, these transports can’t even leave the ground and they run on *checks tricorder* the compressed, liquified bones of ancient life? Nope, they’re not ready. Engage cloak.”
48% isn’t enough. And it isn’t 48%, because the majority of Texans don’t vote at all. I’m not picking specifically on Texas but after the whirlwind of behavior from the entire Republican party resulting in more seats in the house and retaining most of their Senate seats, this dumbfuck nation made the message clear:
Great words from her but I dispute that this is “beneath the dignity of the people of the great state of Texas.” They keep voting for these idiots. This guy’s not some anomaly. Greg Abbott, Ted Cruz, Jon Cornyn, Dan Patrick, Ken Paxton...this is Texas!
