You’re right, I didn’t read closely. They’re partnering with American Family Insurance, which just had its Fitch rating withdrawn because of their profitability issues related to COVID. Looks like they went into the pandemic upside down and then gave auto customers cash back due to reduction in claim payouts, instead

John Lovett (from Pod Save America, not SNL) put it best when he said Twitter is like the movie Inception, where you think you’re in the middle of an action scene but you’ve just been asleep the entire time.

I mentioned her.

The Heartland

Will never understand how a man born in the 70s is stuck in the 50s...even if he’s from Nebraska.

The level of mental illness in which a mother has to be to lose custody of her children is really high. That should’ve been his first clue. She can probably use an insanity plea for this one.

Eh, at first glance, he’s the “polished, competent Trump” of our nightmares. The guy who’s full of awful ideas but isn’t a total idiot in implementing them.

How have they not fixed their naming problems yet? QX55? No one cares enough about Infiniti to tell these apart, so why make it harder on us?

Combine the Gundam forehead hood/headlights of an Accord, the gaping maw grill of a Camry, the vague bulbousness of a Jetta and the *checks notes* D-pillar of a Cadillac CT-4? Okay, still looks better than the last generation, nowhere near the glorious simplicity of the 92-95 era.

When I moved to the Twin Cities, I wanted a simple black and white plate for my car. Regular Minnesota plates are boring and there’s a series of picture plates that feature dumb shit like moose or loons. I then saw a plain, black on white plate and looked into it...

Yeah and apparently the suspect has a long history of being arrested for punching random people around NYC. It's a very weird crime tick to have.

Genesis Coupe concept from a few years ago.

I liked seeing the crane AT-AT fish the Razor Crest out of the water, which seems like the most sensible use for tall, lumbering walkers.

The Lamborghini Jarama 420

I think the difference is the Passport was never an exciting vehicle, it was just a rebadged Rodeo. Another difference is the current Passport, even though it’s just a short-wheelbase Pilot, is a better vehicle than the Blazer in every way. It looks better, it’s well packaged, roomier, faster.

The Polestar 1 looks like a car from a Bond movie, but like one a Bond girl would drive. It looks great but making it a hybrid and not a full-on EV luxury GT was a mistake on Geely’s part.

I don’t know if it’s only a nostalgia thing. If they’d made the Blazer drive like a Camaro instead of just looking like a Camaro, people would’ve loved it and thought the name was brilliant. But it seems to be nothing more than an Equinox leisurely strolling in a track suit, which is a waste of a useful brand name.

I love the not-sedan-not-crossover-but-kinda-both look of the 2. Reminds me of the Outback SUS or the old AMC Eagle sedan

Another easter egg-y thing was when they called up the seed and the lights were moving through the pods, it was the same sound effect of dialing the gate from the Stargate franchise.
