That I agree with you there. Also, I think commuting will be less than a thing in the future, I think the 18-24 months of telecommuting from COVID will permanently change commuting. And vehicles will be more of a lifestyle choice for weekends, hauling stuff, and fun.
This is doable and a great idea to get people working on infrastructure stagnation and tech innovation on batteries and more efficient electric motors. This is also much more doable if the federal government gets to a point where it’s embracing Green New Deal style policy.
In the last 5-7 years they’ve gotten ranges to 300 miles, with Rivian and Lucid looking to 500 miles within the next 2 years. So you don’t think in 15 years automakers won’t be able to out-range ICE engines?
