A shorter weapon needs sights more then a long one. A long barreled shotgun can easily be used with a simple bead sight due to it's length, heck I've shot one with the bead broken off.

Really? I hate to be that guy, but the controls would be ridiculous and difficult to manage with a controller. Maybe with some new fangled control scheme on the next gen consoles, but I really just can't see it working well on the current gen.
