It’s dumb but I know SO MANY people who think that six feet apart is “safe” no matter where you are and that any amount of space is “safe” if you’re outdoors. In an attempt to quell panic, public health messaging has not been stern enough and has vastly overestimated the general intelligence level of the public.

I tend to put Canada on a pedestal and think all my problems would be solved if I moved there, so it’s both sad and kind of nice to realize there are plenty of dummies there too. But I’d still move there in a hot minute given the chance.

I was a loyal spin class attendee until early March. The studio was allowed to reopen in July but despite having 13 unused class credits, I’m not going back till we’re no longer in a plague, for this exact reason. I know they’re trying to be safe. Convinced the rise in spin studios was always more about maximizing minimal space (especially in expensive urban centres) than providing a superior workout (even if they are more intense than your typical aerobics class). 

The reopening phases in Ontario were incredibly rushed. It doesn’t shock me at all that this happened. We’re in the midst of our second wave and the situation is pretty serious in my city but the guidelines continue to be pretty muddy. Businesses are going to operate unless there are direct guidelines against it.
