It’s dumb but I know SO MANY people who think that six feet apart is “safe” no matter where you are and that any amount of space is “safe” if you’re outdoors. In an attempt to quell panic, public health messaging has not been stern enough and has vastly overestimated the general intelligence level of the public.

I tend to put Canada on a pedestal and think all my problems would be solved if I moved there, so it’s both sad and kind of nice to realize there are plenty of dummies there too. But I’d still move there in a hot minute given the chance.

Honestly here in the UK i keep hearing people whining about “not knowing what the rules are” “its so hard to keep up” blah blah blah

Why do you need specific governmental rules to understand “dont hang out indoors with large groups of people” - just because its “allowed” doesnt mean its sensible!

I was a loyal spin class attendee until early March. The studio was allowed to reopen in July but despite having 13 unused class credits, I’m not going back till we’re no longer in a plague, for this exact reason. I know they’re trying to be safe. I feel for them. But they keep texting me and I’m just like, nooooope.

Yeah, this is super unsafe. I manage a small dance studio. And while I could open to limited classes, I know that my small space, with its limited ventilation, would not be safe. I’m in the process of closing it down. I’m lucky, in that this was a side-hustle/labor of love, so I’m ok financially.  But I don’t know how

Convinced the rise in spin studios was always more about maximizing minimal space (especially in expensive urban centres) than providing a superior workout (even if they are more intense than your typical aerobics class).

The reopening phases in Ontario were incredibly rushed. It doesn’t shock me at all that this happened. We’re in the midst of our second wave and the situation is pretty serious in my city but the guidelines continue to be pretty muddy. Businesses are going to operate unless there are direct guidelines against it.

I’m grossed out by imagining the hot and humid environment you’re describing in even a non-pandemic time.

Barrett said that her 10-year-old son, Liam, was so upset during the questioning portion of the hearing the day before that he had to leave.“

Cory Booker tore up her lack of “academic curiosity” (he didn’t use those words) this afternoon over her lack of awareness and attempts to self-educate on racial issues surrounding policing and sentencing, so that was fun, too.

Yeah, that snark set-up to that gut punch? He’s been through a lot.

“when you really sit down and think about everything James Van Der Beek has been through (LOL, I know, I’m sorry)“

The faces she made were giving me life, I literally fist pumped a few times, but the anxiety of how other people would surely hold it against her was killing me at the same time. Overall, I thought she performed almost as well as she possibly could have. She’s definitely ready to meet this moment.

At this point I’m confident that Biden will win not only the popular vote by much more than Clinton did, but also the Electoral College. But that Trump and the gang will get so insanely desperate that they will literally steal ballots or block people from physically voting, likely both. Everyone seriously needs to

Im sorry that happened to you - a friend went through something similar and it was depressing and disappointing to hear nearly all the most vocal “I support women” female friends of hers sided with the shitty, stalkery ex. Perhaps unsurprisingly when COVID rolled around the same group of vocal, alleged socially

It also speaks to a main Democratic problem, YOU HAVE TO SHOW UP. You can’t rely that people are just going to blindly cast their vote, you have to put in the legwork, show up, listen to people and be present. Maybe Texas wouldn’t be such a Republican bastion if Democrats just actually showed up and proved they’re

This is how he negotiates, this is exactly what he does with contractors, he threatens to withhold payment until he gets what he wants. The problem is that even when he gets what he wants, he still doesn’t pay.

This isn’t for an “audience”, he’s trying to bully people into voting for him. It seems stupid to those of

He’s somehow counting on his cult of personality being bigger than it is.

The Biden campaign deciding to bet on Texas is a really interesting turn of events and probably says a lot about both the DNC’s own polling as well as their fundraising.
