I wish The Help had been told from Aibileen’s POV. That’s a book I’d like to read and a movie I’d like to see. Despite the terrible movie around her, Voila’s performance as Aibileen gutted me. I sat through the movie just wanting more of her. I still remember her eyes.

I think there are a lot of important conversations around influencer culture and the legal rights of children being monetized by their parents on social media to be had in light of this story. However, focusing on arbitrating the decision the couple made to find new adoptive parents for him and the language they

Tip for any small/medium sized ladies who like a bra but don’t need a ton of support. My breasts are not particularly notable in size - thirdlove calls me b and a half, so somewhere between a large b and not quite a c by traditional sizing. Even without large breasts, I don’t like the feeling of being without some

Totally see your and Baby Maude’s point. I didn’t intend to imply this man should keep this dog, or that this woman’s motives were completely indefensible. It’s clear this poor puppy was horribly mistreated and should not be given back to this man in any universe.

There’s no defending any piece of what this woman did. However, asking questions about whether animals are receiving adequate care on the streets is not “concern trolling,” especially in the context of the sweeping generalizations made in this press release. They’ve gone beyond the scope of the situation at hand and cl

There is so much wrong with this situation. Clearly, this “influencer” has committed and profited off of a number of gross acts that should not go unpunished. However, the wording and positioning of this press release is another kind of gross. The original situation is not an obvious moral high ground. I’m glad this

The challenge is, depending on where you grew up and how you are educated, it’s quite possible to have so little exposure and awareness that it borders on actual blindness verses willing ignorance. This reminds me of the studies done on the development of rods and cones in our eyes - if you don’t get exposure to light

The “I don’t see race” argument is really an “I have the privilege of not thinking about or discussing racism,” argument, in a world that treats whiteness as its default.”

To borrow phrasing from the show...of course they did not do this for the “right reasons.” They did this for business reasons. ABC saw an opening to capitalize on the moment but frankly I don’t know why on earth anyone would we expect the Bachelor franchise of all things to be heavily weighing ethical issues when

YES! This show is so much more than it appears to be. Watching these people return to their teenage dreams and rediscover the passions they often felt required to leave behind as they faced very real challenges in adulthood is shockingly moving and inspiring. The Pippin episode is absolutely gutting and beautiful. Enco

Have a drive by birthday party, where you all get out of your cars and hug without masks on!

Name correction - Anchor is Linda Vestor, not Laura Vestor. There’s a marketing exec with that name who’s about to get a ton of linkedin views!

But aren’t we also being asked to take her word for it? And apparently her....neighbor? He’s trying to create a road here to disprove something the accuser currently has no solid evidence to prove herself. It’s an impossible exercise for all sides.

My company has been experimenting with flexible work schedules in small pods among development for a few months ahead of covid. Employees outside of those pods asked about expanding, and many managers were reluctant to open their teams up to it because they are old school and attached to their face time and

Considering who our president is, seems like messages from celebs may be a pretty effective way to convince some folks to do their part.

What if this IS Taylor Allison though? I feel like when people say Beyonce and Taylor are curated, they talk about it like there is some secret version of them that is wildly different or that to qualify as authentic you have to look like a hot mess or behave like a child in public. What if their real personalities

“The bodies in question were provided to the research station for the express purpose of figuring out whether or not feral cats would feast on the moldering flesh of human corpses if presented with the opportunity.”

I agree he isn’t punching down. He’s just being unrelentingly negative and framing it up in such a way that he can call it a joke. That kind of humor strikes me as lazy and not particularly interesting or funny.

Yeah, I previously saw just the pics and was initially pretty grossed out. Now that I watched the video, he just looks shit canned. I’m no fan of his and I think he can be a real weenie in the media, but this looks pretty unremarkable in context.

This sort of intimate contact would just not be acceptable within the boundaries of how my relationship is set up. My partner and I both have siblings- we aren’t holding hands with them and caressing each other’s fingers or knees.
