Totally different point, but fuck Sarah Palin for trying to use PTSD to excuse this behavior. My best friend is a veteran with PTSD, and he has somehow managed to navigate his adult life without harming his romantic partners or anyone else. Most men who have PTSD don’t. There are a ton of women with PTSD too, many of

Are men scared of the possibility of women raping them? I am asking earnestly. Because besides excessive power, bullying, and verbal abuse, women have to deal with the concrete fear of physical harm.

It’s the combination of power and entitlement. Two things than men have(because society gives it to them) far more often than women. You’re absolutely right, it’s not about being a man or a woman. It’s just that, in our culture, men are usually raised with these traits/status that result in this type of predatory

Takei?

it on happens to women seemingly more because more men are in positions of power. Shift that dynamic and you’d hear just as many male accusers coming forward. It’s not a guy thing, it’s a power thing and men tend to have the power right now. buy hey, #metoo #nonotyoujustme

This was exactly what I meant. Proportionally much less, but still enough to warrant our attention.

Define “a lot”. It’s nowhere near the level of what women face, but way more than people think it happens.

Did you intend to give the most disingenuous reply or was it just luck?

Absolutely. I’ve been on the receiving end of a gropey female manager. I was 16 to boot. But that being said, it was one out of several women I’ve worked for and hundreds I’ve worked with. And I’ve seen this sort of thing from male managers/co-workers much more frequently.

I think we’re in agreement. More men are in power position, so more men abuse power, just in raw numbers. I really think that a big driver of this is just people who get off being dominant over other people. In my experience, both men and women can exhibit this trait.

It happens to more women, and it happens much more frequently to women. But there are plenty of instances where men are harassed by women they work for/look up to. This doesn’t need to turn into a competition. Anyone who experiences harassment or assault is a victim.

Right, but if a man or woman is going to harass/molest/assault another person, isn’t it likelier that the perpetrator is in a position of power, rather than a subordinate?

I think the conversation is, “A lot of people who have power tend to abuse that power. A lot of people who have power are men.” Powerful women could absolutely pull the same stuff as the men we’ve seen, but it’s a much smaller pool and (at least in terms of like, office jobs) women have a harder time getting above

Don’t get me wrong... I’m happy to see a nationwide reckoning for gross, predatory men in power. But I’m also glad to see that women are getting nailed for this behavior too, because it does happen (a lot). Hopefully this can help the conversation shift to the fact that it’s the powerful position — and not the gender

“Two games” - Roger Goodell

if only kendall jenner got there sooner with that pepsi...

Looks like he made quite the boner.

Do you have a functioning brain?

Yes! The term “12s” is more derogatory than anything else around here. You’re calling someone a bandwagon fan basically.

i agree with you. My buddy calls them “12's since ‘12" to show his disdain for fans who weren’t there for the glory days that were led by Dan McGwire, Kelly Stouffer, Rick Mirer and John Kitna (and to a lesser extent, Seneca Wallace and Tavaris Jackson).
