I feel so bad for him. On one of the pictures he put up on Twitter, he responded to someone’s condolences just saying “I’m suffering” and it was such a stark and bare phrase, so devoid of any kind of linguistic flourish or phrasing that it absolutely broke my heart. Dana Carvey is suffering and it makes me very sad.

The ending is by far the most powerful part. The length of that obituary hit me like a truck, partially because I’ve seen similar stories. I’ve researched the Eastland Disaster of 1915 for years and there’s this woman I’ve read about named Helen Repa.  Czech nurse, saved hundreds that day.  Absolute hero, her obit is

I suppose even Eli Roth had to make SOMETHING decent at some point.

The trailer was a highlight of seeing Grindhouse in the theater way back when. But I remember thinking “that’s about as much Eli Roth as anyone should ever endure” as I watched it. His stuff is too torture porny for me, and I’m hoping this will be a break from it (no wait, there’s the trampoline knife).

I agree. It’s outrageous that this television miniseries does not show every single event and participant in World War II.

Norton is notorious for being very controlling on set - wanting control over the script and production, etc. No way Marvel was going to let him have his way. And that was when actors were allowed to see full scripts! Now they just stand in front of a green screen and read lines and don’t find out what movie they were

“I’m glad we came to a deal, everyone. Now, get working on some more shows for me to cancel and delete from our servers.” - David Zaslav, probably.

Yeah, back to work! Except you, Jared Leto. You need to keep striking indefinitely. Sorry, it was a key part of the negotiations.

Back to work *please

I’ve seen all the movies up through Endgame*, and then have only seen Spider-Man NWH, Wakanda Forever, and Quantumania. Didn’t hear great things about Shang Chi, Eternals, Love and Thunder, Black Widow, or whatever else I’m missing. I don’t have Disney+ so I haven’t seen any of the shows and I have to shell out to

I’m going to see this in a theater (a rarity for me these days) for no other reason than I want to see Iman Vellani.

Am I the only one who thought Paul Marks was going to push Alex off her balcony?

No-one introduce Inherit the Wind to these people!

Or that time Tom Sawer and his friends had an orgy

A little jarring but not that unusual. He acts occasionally.

This is the first I’ve heard of any divisive performance. I was still reeling from the unexpected Lithgow appearance at the time TBH.

How long can we drag this out?  Either you liked the performance or you didn’t; either it ruined the movie for you or it didn’t.  It’s just shallow Cinema Sins hot-take criticism (see also:  holes, plot).  “Aha, I found one flaw with your critically-revered movie!  Now, I don’t have to think further about the merit of

Bradley decides to resign from UBA for “personal reasons”—a move that shocks everyone.

I guess it’s some lingering fantasy that given how shitty The Flash was, that the stupid Batgirl movie simply HAD to be good, huh. Sheesh.

I love how the angle of all these pieces is, “These chowderheads running streaming services don’t know what they’re doing lol!” Rather than the more probable explanation: “They aren’t being completely forthright with their customers, but this is almost certainly about money, and giant corporations run mainly by bean-co
