I mean there are some things that fall under the absurdly long umbrella of Cancel Culture in which the consequence was out of proportion to the action. And there are definitely some instances in which the consequence was appropriate.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you AREN’T automatically making just anyone uncomfortable by tracing spontaneous circles on inner thighs. But when someone has literally told you that you are, it becomes your prerogative to stop, adjust, and redo based on listening and absorbing.
