I’ve got elderly parents who are clearly aging rapidly, but at this point aren’t showing signs of real dementia. And I have NO INTEREST in seeing what a potential future might be for them and me. I love the idea of making it immersive to his state of mind, but it will only break me down more right now. Hard pass.

Definitely made me think the story was as slow and plodding as a cruiseliner might be. But, as the review said, it wasn’t an unpleasant ‘crossing’, but it’s definitely a leisurely one. All the leads were wonderful, and I really LOVE one of my favs, Diane Wiest, let ‘motherfucker’ roll off her tongue with such gusto! I

Going with the “Wizard of Oz” motif, I also assumed the East/West demarcation of the hotel was the ‘Wicked Witch of the ___’. Both women were horrible.

Pretending to murder is right up the ally of this “Miller’s Crossing” hybrid.

I’m with you. Miller’s Crossing is still up there in the top three Coen Bros films for me. While this one leans heavily on that film, there isn’t the same whiz-bang forward motion that other movie has. I love what Noah Hawley has done with ALL the seasons, and this one had the potential to be the most involving for

No thanks, HBO. This could have all been done in MAYBE two parts. I won’t be back for more dullness.

I was figuring she would be gone after season one, since in interviews Morgan was like ‘Why are you asking about her? There are other people on this show!’ And it wasn’t in a very jokey way either.

The song. How dare they!! HAHA!

It wouldn’t be the first time they tried!

I remember one critic writing that it was a mistake that never should have seen the light of day and the less said about it the better. I was like ‘Is that motherfucker on CRACK?! This shit is DOPE AS FUUUUCK!’ I still feel that way. I LOVE hearing the story of how it got made too.

I was only at 13 or so and I felt like a piker around the ‘superfans’. HAHA!

I’m a huge Prince fan. The day he died I was just about to take a professional test for work and this one guy who had my phone number texted me ‘Prince is dead!’ and I thought, ‘That dumb fuck doesn’t have a clue!’ As I was going through the test online I started to feel lightheaded and faintly out of my

Vance is listed as being in all eight episodes, too. Not always true, but a good bet.

Awesome!

I assumed from the beginning it was this guy. And that he hasn’t been seen since, it makes me even more suspicious of him.

I’m with you on the next season being a new story. I was just wondering aloud if ghosts of this one could arise. I’m fine with either eventuality. I’m just hoping that with the lockdown we don’t have to wait two years for another season.

Hmm, that’s a good question. I assumed that Mason knew, but perhaps he didn’t. The reveal that there were two others who were probably swayed by Mason is a good sign for his later confidence. This was his first trial, after all, and I liked that he didn’t outright win.

I really enjoyed that touch too. It was as if they were telling the audience ‘You’re not going to get that satisfaction today.’ But, I do hope eventually it leads to that and we are tickled with scenes of people blurting out guilt.

It was a great and welcome surprise!

I wonder if, like ‘The Wire’, there are echoes of the loose ends in next season’s story. Maybe we will find out who exactly took Charlie’s body and who was the true mastermind of the kidnapping to begin with.
