He's played the role of "white man who seems racist but isn't" a few times now. Black and White, Macfarland USA, and now here. This is commenting on how Costner is either purposely picking these roles or he's seen as The Guy for these roles now.

And Ethan Hawke's character got away with no consequences and still bad-mouthing the mom.

Yeah, I remember sitting in the theater going "am I really going to have to watch this guy become an abusive alcoholic for the next 30 minutes?" as soon as he ordered the second bottle of wine at the early dinner scene.

At least that's sort of close. I looked up Drunken Master on Netflix once and got Miss Marple as a suggestion.

The more I see of him the more I feel that Chris Pine is generally underrated.

Ginnifer Goodwin is an excellent crier, even in animated form

Yeah, compared to the trailer and my expectation of a Shane Black film I was disappointed with the actual film.

I loved the saying goodbye to Jacob scene, when Jacob asks why Newt kept him around. Also, when Queenie came to the shop at the end of the film.

I was pleasantly surprised by the layers of jokes in Popstar. Am also hoping it finds life as a cult classic.

The highlight of Sully was the airport control operator's reaction to loosing radio contact with the plane. His small voiced "no one survives that landing" is gutting.

I enjoyed the limo scene because it went equal opportunity with the body parts being rubbed against the windows.

Did you get that?

Loved so much of Wilderpeople that it's hard to pick a favorite moment.

Loved both movies. Arrival was one of my favorites of the year and as a history nerd The Witch was amazing. The best part of The Witch's ending is the whispered "would thou wish to live deliciously?"

I agree that a laugh track is probably a bad idea but most of the jokes didn't land because they didn't have room to breathe. A live audience would be a good idea to make the comedy/banter stand out.

I'm stupidly excited for Wonder Woman based on the trailer. I know it's DC and I will probably be let down (if not by the movie then by the conversation surrounding the movie) but I can't help but be excited.

He was so stupidly charming and delighted by everything!

I feel like Fiennes needs some recognition for the sheer number of words he uttered throughout A Bigger Splash, especially as compared to Tilda Swinton's silence.

I put the word game scene in 10 Cloverfield Lane. It's the scene that I most told people about this year and because it was the right level of creepy.

I mostly look at these polls as a way to remind everyone of John Goodman's awesome, terrifying performance in 10 Cloverfield Lane.
