Danny Concannon for life!
Danny Concannon for life!
That was pretty much my immediate reaction after this episode. Season long driving lessons are a must.
I also love that the show is confident enough in it's action sequences that it takes time out for the obvious but important jokes, like Ichabod not knowing how to drive or Ichabod's annoyance at cell phones.
Absolutely agree that the last hour was rushed. I felt like the entire two hours should have been devoted to Eleanor's post-war years. For the show to go from spending two hours on four years (in depth) to cramming twelve years of accomplishments into less than an hour was, I felt, a slight to Eleanor Roosevelt's…
"I'm coming for you, Meryl." - Amy Adams, right now.
blonde wigs are the new funny hats!
fun fact: Oryx and Crake totally killed the book club I was in a few years ago. Everyone had very strong reactions to the book and no one trusted the other side's book picks after this one.
Friday night:
The Odyssey of Film (Netflix)
Saturday night:
Baseball game: Royals Vs. Boston. It was odd to see the Royals do so well and Boston play so poorly.
Sunday:
Visited the local Renaissance Festival. It was a fun day. So many of the craftspeople play to a fandom crowd (Doctor Who, Supernatural, Game of Thrones,…
I feel like it's a little unfair for Paul Giamatti to be both John Adams and Teddy Roosevelt.
Also, the Lorne Michaels with serial killers impression was pretty great.
Hader is one of those guys that seems cool and then when you learn about him you find out he's exactly as cool as you thought he was.
You know everyone is going to forget like three of those "o"s whenever spelling the name.
This might be one of those things where the context of the film makes what seems "off" about his voice work a little better.
I imagine him (Fassbender's Plummer) as a drunk John Cleese. He's cheeky and doesn't particularly care what's happening but he's there to roll his eyes at all the Disney magic.
Darkwing Duck!
I haven't seen that one, actually. I haven't really jumped into Polanski's filmography like a lot of other directors. I'll add it to the list, though. Thanks!
Agreed on Prisoners (which also had one of the best endings I've seen in a long time). I don't think End of Watch got nearly enough praise either, although the plot of that film pales in comparison to the fun of watching Gyllenhaal and Pena hang out in a cop car.
The reviews are making me even more excited for Nightcrawler…and that trailer already had me pretty excited.
This show is going to be crazy. Like, dogs without horses crazy.
Honestly, it seems like they're all pretending to be on a sitcom. It feels like they haven't fully committed to the realism of the sitcom.
Yeah, Helo is my favorite character because of his devotion and general Good Guy-ness, but Adama and Roslin win everything.
Knowing that he willingly left the show makes me feel a little bad about hating Dee for the rest of the series b/c of what happened to Billy. Just a little, though. The writers didn't do Dee any favors in the Fat Lee fiasco
He's done some amazing and subtle work. I was struck recently by how good his performance was in An Education. His speech comforting Carrie Mulligan's character at the end of the film is the perfect balance of caring and feeling his own hurt. Great actor.
