It was the biggest mistake by Toyota to replace the Cressida with the Avalon especially when the Crown and Mark-series were available at the time.

Its really annoying that I’m in the minority in that I don’t really like gigantic trucks. They just keep right on getting Bigger, and BIGGER, and BIGGGGEEEERRR over time. And they look ridiculous.

Tanks also have a turning radius of zero... making them far more ideal for dense neighborhoods with really narrow streets, and tight parking.

If you think it’s bad now just wait for the full EV revolution when every vehicle looks like a modified form of a teardrop because you can’t defy the laws of physics and aerodynamic drag.

I’ve seen the same with 2 giant SUVs with teeny tiny soccer moms, both have backing/parking sensors beeping the hell out that we could even hear from the open windows and they still backed into each other. People are morons

Hopefully the cellphonization of car ownership remains confined to Tesla, because it’s easy to avoid being a Tesla customer. But I worry that these business practices will spread to other brands as soon as they figure out how to get away with it.

Tesla continues to act like trash, weird nerds continue to defend Elon: Film at Eleven.

horrible news. late 2020 going into this year  has seen the death of so many hip-hop personalities. MF Doom, Ecstasy, Prince Markie Dee, DMX, Shock G, and now Biz.. The last “beat-box champ” from the 80s era still around is Doug E Fresh.

Goddamn...2021 is taking some greats. As a kid who grew up on hip hop in the 80s and 90s, I guess I better start getting used to it.

3rd Gear: I work at a Hyundai dealer, and I overheard some talk that our incoming inventory hasn’t been affected too much, but our on-the-lot new inventory is low because we’re getting so many buyers coming from the Honda, Chevy, etc. dealers that don’t have inventory.

One of my high school friends posted yesterday that they took delivery of their first brand new car, by virtue of being at the dealership when the truck arrived. They were ecstatic that it had been entered on the manifest incorrectly and was blue instead of black, but were apparently going to take it either way.

The problem is the price is usually totally ridiculous at this point. There’s just so much goddamn money sloshing around the housing market, because investment firms are desperate for any return they can get, that it’s distorting the market badly. I’m genuinely worried that some hedge fund doofus is going to snap up…

I like the zen and art reference, as I age i like cars that break down less, need less work and hold together better, yes I miss my 78 rabbit 4 speed but not when I need to get to work reliably and not sweat covered or when it filled with water when it rained.
