Let’s be honest, trying to use government power to divert chip supplies to one manufacturer over another is either crony capitalism or just straight up central planned authoritarianism.

Not gonna lie, the thought of a Ridgeline with a 4.7L V8 derived from the J35 V6 block makes me feel new things in strange places.

The Fit.

absolutely agree.  hp and 0-60 times are getting comical for general market daily drivers.

We would be if we didn’t also demand more power with every iteration of a model. In what universe should a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord have 300 hp? I get it, that’s what consumers want, but I imagine it’s also the reason why we haven’t seen fuel economy numbers improve substantially.

It takes a lot of energy to hurl a 5k pound SUV down the road at 70 mph. I’m not sure physics and economics will allow for too many 30+ mpg SUVs.

I see it as once electric cars become the dominant form of road vehicle, service stations will start to replace the gas pumps with electric charging stations when they go through the decade or so update that the major chains seem to follow.

Now playing

As someone who is at least partially “Environmentally Minded”, I’m happy to see a push to electric vehicles and a ban on New ICE engine vehicles. The caveat here being that I, like most people, don’t know the full environmental impact of producing batteries and I KNOW that our power stations in the US are still

Once these states realize how much money they’ll have to spend to make their electric infrastructure robust enough to support widespread BEV use they’ll change their tune REAL quick.

See that beautiful BMW in green with a tan interior at the top of this article?

Douchebag wastes of space looking for any way to exercise overt violence in order to get their way because they think a different tint on skin is somehow the basis of all their stupidity in every facet of life?

Can we just get all of them in one spot (maybe an orange turd rally) and then

I’m reminded of when Clarkson-era Top Gear reviewed some kind of car that was trying to be a road-legal F1 car, and James May commented (paraphrase) that, “It’s amazing that there are regulations for where this turn signal light has to be placed, but there’s no restriction on fast the car is allowed to go.”

Communist thinking like this is keeping us from being great again. [crashes schoolbus while commenting]

I’ve had both my Pfizer jabs and all I care about is that if I get COVID, I’m 95ish% guaranteed not to die. Regardless of the strain or variant. Not efficacy just chance of death.

Shout out to the LS Mafia then...

This is a car blog for car dorks. This is the place for this kind of take.

Hmm. I’m not sure.
