Most general contractors, plumbers, and HVAC businesses and tradesmen I’ve seen have switched from pickups to vans. Same with deliveries. I think vans have found a useful niche in the automotive landscape. Not to mention the ever-so popular #vanlife movement.
If a truck buyer honestly defends their purchase, I think most of us would move on with life. The problem is the truck buyers who are defending their God-given right to do whatever they want with no regard for the society they exist within and impact. This is not about trucks; it is about selfishness.
Exactly. Most people in the USA just buy stuff because they want it, and that’s the hallmark of an overprivileged society.
I think it’s a bit weird that anytime this debate comes up, truck drivers feel the need to come in here and defend their buying decision. Like anyone cares.

If the idea is everyone and your dog and your neighbor’s dog should have an EV, great, but the governments of the world have done next to nothing to help drive infrastructure. It’s been all private. That needs to change immediately.
