I think maybe we’re a groundhog’s day situation. I’m going to grab a toaster and get in the tub to test out the theory.

Catch 22. Such a good book.
Nice!
She sounds like she’s making a pretty solid argument for veterans to be denied access to guns.
Fair enough. I read the Jez article (which is, in my defense, incredibly misleading), and the comments (written by people who were also obviously mislead), and assumed I had the correct gist of everything...I’ll be sure to better educate myself next time before commenting!
This a poorly written article. Even the Washington Post had more backstory, even if the headline was similarly misleading. The mother gave milk-based formula for the first 2.5 months until advised to switch after the baby developed a rash. At that point, she switched to an almond-based prepared mixture. At this point,…
fair enough, formula was probably the incorrect word. all I’m going on is, ‘a doctor suggested changing the diet. The baby was switched to an almond-based prepared mixture.’ which is pretty vague, did the doctor suggest the specific diet? does ‘almond-based prepared mixture’ just refer to almond milk? i don’t know,…
Perhaps try reading the source article?
Perhaps you should try reading he source articles.
There may be some translation issues going on here, but they say “almond based mixture,” NOT “almond formula.” I can’t actually even find an almond milk baby formula commercial product available to buy anywhere, though there are hundreds of homemade formula recipes online.
It saddens me that this comment is so far down. I hope someone comes along and brings it out of the greys soon before it becomes completely buried
omg, this is like an echo chamber of stupid. if you’re going to comment, read the articles! these people are not vegans! their baby was allergic to dairy formula, got put on an almond based formula and seemed to be developing normally so the parents were not concerned. the problem is that the child wouldn’t eat the…
It’s amazing how many comments could be immediately cleared up by..... reading. Magical! You must be a wizard.
This is horrible, but the parents started off feeding the baby dairy milk; I don’t think they were trying to raise a vegan baby, so I don’t get why everyone is all “ugh stupid vegans!” on this article? Soy formula has existed for a long time and I’m sure vegan parents know that, unless they are also part of the…
I usually love a good old fashioned ‘storm the castle’ when it comes to idiocy, but I just feel kind of bad for these parents. They are probably reading all about how their child should be taken away from them because they are sociopaths deliberately harming their child, when in reality they likely thought they were…
What these parents did was dumb, but they’re not vegan nutcases who were abusing their child. The baby was getting formula and started developing a rash so the doctor recommended they swap to almond based formula. The kid was picky, refused to eat anything else, and here we are.
Full story was that is was actually prescribed by their child’s doctor to give the baby almond milk !
Ughhh, I had those twice a week NSTs too and hated them, but I also had weekly ultrasounds to go with them. They knew my kiddo wasn’t too big, but I had to get the section anyway because she crammed her little baby head into my ribcage and refused to move.
