the Meatball sketch was a season best. The paw patrol sketch was WAY too long. JAJ’s Trump has the voice right, but it is just not that funny and it’s too positive of a portrayal. Melissa really doesn’t get much to do, but I am glad that Heidi and Chloe keep carving out little pieces.

I’m not a fan of JAJ’s trump either.  Don’t get me wrong--it’s obviously very good.  But that’s the problem.  I avoid coverage of trump like the plague because I can’t stand do look at him or hear him, so I’m not trying to see an accurate depiction of him on a show where I’m trying to relax and laugh.  Just leave him

I think comedy is absolutely ready for a Cronenberg.”

The “meatball men” sketch is one of the greatest things I have ever seen. And I say this as someone who has watched Saturday Night Live since the beginning, and who is a great lover of sketch comedy — SCTV, Monty Python, MadTV, Mr. Show, Kids in the Hall, Whitest Kids U’Know, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Fridays, In

I thought the show was rather weak this week. Most of the sketches didn’t really take off but they weren’t downright awful either. Just your typical C+/B- just coasting by that you get from SNL nowadays.

But today, everyone’s doing their own Delvey act on Instagram, and this feels like filler from a newish cast member whose talents are better used on outside targets. If SNL becomes even more of a blatant vehicle for personal-brand-building, Lorne help us.” I’m not sure what this means. I thought it was just a good

I think when most people say “cut the cast” they actually mean, “Aidy, Cecily, Kate, Kenan, Pete: guys, you’ve been great, but it’s time to move on and give the new guys a chance”

You didn’t like the meatball sketch? Look, I’m not going to say for sure that low key cough medicine abuse during my formative years did substantial damage to my brain-sponge, but I will say that I thought that the meatball sketch was goddamn delightful.

I’m confused...what’s with calling the “appearance” discussion about Graham and DeSantis “a pleasant memory of the Chevy Chase/Jane Curtin/Dennis Miller Update eras, where photo commentary was regular—”?

Ditto

The meatball sketch won the night. Everyone seems to agree the show could use more absurdity, so it seems contradictory to also ask for motivation: the point is there is no point.

It still irritates me to this day.

Flealectric Bagaloo

Remember how the AV Club was reviewing Fleabag and then just suddenly forgot to cover the last two episodes of the season/series?

If only someone had thought of casting Will Ferrell in this, it would have been fantastic!

It’s a good statement from him. I didn’t interpret that as him being ready to leave the role behind anytime soon, just that “Loki” as a concept and character is much bigger than him and he won’t always it.

Except Ben Affleck.

Sounds like he wants his future roles to be a bit more low key.

I can understand why Ferrell was disappointed that McKay didn’t cast him as Buss, given their friendship and the fact that this looks like a blast, but Reilly was 100% the correct choice. People forget he had like a dozen dramatic roles under his belt before taking his comedic turn. He’s a far, far better actor than
