I feel like how Ben got away from Vader was one of the dumbest things I have seen on TV in years. And I watch a lot of TV. And I have seen a lot of dumb things. Including in this very episode. But this one truly stood out.

I liked Hawkeye and Moon Knight better than any of the Netflix shows or AOS. I know this is a controversial issue, but I personally thought the mini-series-type structure kept Hawkeye and Moon Knight cooking along to the end. In contrast, I found the Netflix shows and AOS, with their more traditional TV series format,…
In my case, it was for entertainment.
I can’t imagine it is possible not to.
I also think he killed the guys at the beginning because there was no way to let them go safely. One is just a victim, the other can probably plea out lightly, so they could go to the cops.
Stranger Things in Graduate School
All the more with “oligarchs” so much in the news (although obviously after the season was made).
I mean so many games are made into TV/movies, why not Monopoly?
I didn’t think John Adams was going anywhere, but then him showing up in Newport to outcharm Gladys was my favorite part of this episode.
Elevator pitch to HBO:
I really have no instincts about this (not having had, say, servants).
Yeah, I agree that, say, Downton was not very well-written. And yet I drank that show down like a pitcher of G&Ts on a hot day.
B+? More like D+, at best.
At a minimum, I am pretty sure she is going to build something equivalent to The Breakers.
I’m not sure how specifically any one person it will be referencing, but I do think there is a very good chance Gladys is being set up to be married off for a title, aka a “dollar princess”.
Dislike: George being innocent, and his only real victims continuing to deserve it. Boooooo. Robber barons hurt a lot of innocent people.
Yep. It is truism that those of us who just watch a lot of streaming off a given account are basically already ahead of those who watch substantially less. It is always the way with “all-you-can-eat” pricing models—bigger appetites win.
It is a dynamic situation, but it is true picking only a few genres you want, being able to get the bulk of it, but not paying for anything else, will largely remain impossible. Like, if you want all the major SciFi movies and TV, particularly in a timely fashion, you will likely need a lot of different services that…
I agree the setting was less fantastical, but I am not sure that supports the original claim that Turning Red “reveals direct and immediate human (as opposed to toy, bug, car, robot, anthropomorphized emotion) experiences” notably more so than other recent Pixar movies.
I liked the themes and found the characters relatable, but still my overall impression was the movie was kinda thin and only OK. On my personal Pixar rankings it was right in line with Luca and Soul, and better than Onward, but still well short of an Inside Out or Up. Actually well short of Coco, for me.
