Call my cynical, but it seems like an angle grinder with a flap wheel would take care of any etching in all of about 10 seconds.

“While the Times says that’s a five percent increase over 2021, it’s a near 30 percent increase over 2020.”
Lexus CT200h F-sport. Some trim and wheels can’t get around the fact that it’s sporting all of about 100hp from the gas engine and another 40 from the electric - exactly the same as every other model. Not very sporty.
LOL. See?! I did the math wrong - I forgot to carry a 1 when I was converting from dolphins to bananas. This is why we need standards!
Dumb question time: The $7500 tax credit is only applied to your tax liability, correct? So, if I’m Joe Schmoe who ends up with a few hundred dollar tax refund from the government at the end of the year, doesn’t that mean I would get zero benefit from a $7500 tax credit - being that I owe no taxes?
Can we *please* stick to measurements relative to a banana? All these conversions from dolphins and gnus make my head hurt.
I believe it was the “Cheap Porsche” episode that started the whole genre of “3 car presenters competing against each other with cars that match their personalities” shows that we still see today. It’s also one of my favorites
Early-mid 90s Mazda. FD RX7, Miata/MX5, MX6, V6 MX3, Millenia, 929. All great designs & great drivers (we can forget/forgive the 626). If Mazda made a Greatest Hits album, it would include all of these gems that were all available at the same time.
It’s not mentioned in the article (as is typical here), but it’s only banning the sale of new gasoline powered cars; and, IIRC, it doesn’t include ALL gasoline powered vehicles (something about allowances for commercial use, RVs, yada, yada...)
I’m no Porsche expert, but
You’ve chosen an appropriate color for the image. I know people like to say teal was a defining 90s color, but, having worked on dealer car lots in the 90s, I would say that the majority of the humdrum cars from that era were sold in this shade of boring-gold. I grew to hate this color... still do.
Here’s a thought: manuals have been less frequently bought because they have been less available. They aren’t available because dealers aren’t ordering them. When the car market was scarce (2021), dealers were less inclined to ask for anything that wasn’t in line with the majority customer. On top of that, many…

Part of the “fun” of a manual transmission is the mastery of it. How smoothly you can make the shifts, how quickly you can perform a shift when you need it, how cleanly you rev-match, how you time the shifts for comfort or powerband, etc, etc. The engagement of a manual transmission does not come from simply moving a s…
Part ‘em out.
I wonder how much of the added traffic is from the planned closure of Santa Monica airport?
Politics aside: the point of a carpool lane is to reduce the number of vehicles on the road by encouraging people to ... carpool, right? So why is driving around with people who aren’t otherwise able to drive (specifically, your own kids) justification for using the carpool lane? The purpose of the carpool lane has…
Came here to post this. I’ve been shopping for a new small car for my commute... choices are sparse in the small car category, especially if you’re going for something other than an econo-box. It’s no wonder people aren’t buying in that segment - it barely exists.
Fox 2 Detroit reports that this pan, posing as a salesman, created an elaborate scam that involved lies and resold cars.
