I don’t understand how a lot of white people doing a horrible thing makes that thing ok.

Agree which makes me more aligned with Sanders’ commitments than any other candidate.
Or maybe he was just more successful than he thought he was going to be.
You mean fighting for indigenous sovereignty and not ignoring the impacts of settler colonialism and forced assimilation and indigenous erasure?
Then why was this headline news on CNN?
I think it’s on whoever leaked the story to provide nuance and character to the private conversation 2 years ago that CNN et al decided was newsworthy today - and I’m not saying it was Warren. But it was someone Warren knows.
Now you sound like the CNN mod. I don’t believe that happened, and I would like Warren to clarify her comments on what she explicitly believes he said. It’s out of character from a lifetime of service and fierce advocacy for Sanders and out of character purely based on the history of their friendship.
Wow. So much love in this.
He, to everyone’s surprise, built a political movement that many of his growing supporter base want to see through.
Already agreed he could have handled this better - e.g., ‘we both discussed our intentions to run in 2020 and the unique challenges of Trump as an opponent, but I did not say a woman could not win in 2020 - in fact women being empowered to run for political office is a belief I’ve held close for decades.’
hindsight…
Agree linear time works in one direction starting with Sanders urging Warren to run for three years leading up to 2016.
jesus christ
I agree Sanders and Warren supporters need each other, and are also competitive and want to win the nomination. I also think who you believe started this tends to correlate pretty strongly with the candidate you prefer.
I have ideas about how to re-imagine immigration and migration. With climate change and climate refugees changing entire landscapes of livable land, we’re all going to have to start thinking about this.
I don’t know about that but the deportations were bad including ones that impacted my community.
Sanders (rightly) actually received a lot of the same constructive criticism about the makeup of his base in 2016. He’s made good adjustments since then.
Agree
No I would think she would respond by expanding her commitments to and relationships with marginalized people
I stand corrected, but was referring to this:
