Ah reminds me of the earlier STi and Evo models. Awesome. Love the DGAF style.

Wish I could afford one. I love houndstooth seats ugh. One day.
And here is a PDF of an active hood standard recently. https://www.nhtsa.gov/DOT/NHTSA/NVS/Public%20Meetings/SAE/2014/Ames%20Active%20Hoods%20-%20FINAL.pdf
Not sure if you are being cheeky here. NHTSA has multiple federally safety standards. Most recently that I recall was it’s own post here on jalop was the regulation of quiet cars i.e. Electric or hybrids making noise for pedestrian safety. So they can hear them coming.
Belt lines being raised is directly correlated to pedestrian impact standards as well as roll over standards.
Was it a flat farm? Gravel uphill roads say in the mountains. Every farm is not the same either. Did you guys get multiple feet of snow every year? If you needed lumber you would take the Volvo instead of the pickup truck? I am 100% sure there were other basic uses. I love Volvo wagons but come on 24inches of snow or…
I honestly feel some people on this site must be shortsighted and not understand that different parts of this country have different needs and wants. 4WD and a pickup/SUV to live a normal life. Try Maine during the snow season with a prius or any small 2wd sedan for that matter. Try fixing up your house bringing your…
You are talking about class A type vehicles 26k that do inter and intra state business. DOT number, apportioned plates (reg) and fuel tax stamps for various states. Yes. I am talking about your local landscape, plumber, masons etc. Generally we use lighter trucks that do not hit those classifications.
Pay for the privilege to buy a truck? Do you own a house? Do you do any yard work or basic house work? Have you lived in a fly over state? Trucks are the most utilitarian form of auto out there. Not sure where you live but try living in the heartland and owning a house without a truck. I ain’t saying its a Denali XL…
So first look into it more and check your sources.
Come on man fix that! Actually it is probably so brittle it will break soon enough.
The past 80 years American’s like/want larger vehicles. I don’t know the sociology behind it but we do. I like big engines, speed, light cars, and driving fast. I don’t give two turds about getting slightly worse gas mileage in my C5 Z06 than some ecobox. If you like cars, driving, speed deregulation of the auto…
I think most jalops love cars. I am itching to see what manufactures do if they can have more leeway in design. We keep getting some good cars but if fuel standards are relaxed and deregulate other aspects of the auto industry I want to see what they can crank out hopefully some cool cars.
....finish your idea here. Every car looks the same now same silhouette. Current form is so heavily regulated design is thwarted. If the lofty 54MPG standard gets relaxed hopefully good comes from it from a design angle.
That’s just condescending. Putting a backup camera in a Miata is just nonsense. Absolutely zero need for it. Also they are useless if there is any form of condensation, dirt, dust etc. on the lenses. Keep engineering anti-stupid features just creates more stupid.
A lot of comments here are saying tax the hell out of them and raise gas prices. People need to see how fuel prices are linked to everyday life! Shipping, utilities, construction etc. Amazon prices will be going up with the cost to manufacture and ship goods does. Cost of living. Even your hipster organic items have…
The industry fought against the backup camera mandate 100%.
Over stretching by the bean counters at the insurance companies. Popup headlights, any fin type design feature. Cars are insanely over regulated. Honestly look at any aspect of a car and there will be a gov mandate about it. Hell even boxy as hell range rovers are now sleek to keep up with regulations. CAFE fuel…
Fiesta ST or Cruze?
