Radiolab did an amazing episode about it. Basically his manifesto boiled down to him bombing people to "TRY TO NOT LISTEN THIS TO MY IMPORTANT THOUGHTS NOW!"
It's a great movie, for this deleted scene alone. Featuring Sam Waterston as the embodiment of evil, and a truly creepy John Williams score.

This is incredible. No joke, I'm truly impressed. That pizza montage! The HBO theme!
