All pricing on digital goods is arbitrary. There’s no such thing as ‘full price.’ Unless you are literally paying the millions of dollars the game costs to develop you are not paying ‘full price.’
Retail price is simply the price point most people are willing to pay, or at least enough people are willing to pay such…
You can do exactly what you suggest, and also keep a credit card that you pay off in full every month.

Same with new game sales, most of that money goes to the publisher. They do make a pretty good margin off of their used game sales, but profit margin on merchandise is also very good…
Nah, Gamestop knows that no one goes in there to buy games anymore.
The entire point of this rental subscription plan is to get people to come back in the store repeatedly so that they can be tempted by their constantly refreshing pokemon plushie selection.
I don’t know if you’re missing the joke, or if your missing the joke is a meta joke that I’m missing.
Gabe Newell built an empire on the back of the premise “Piracy is a service problem.” If you want to compete with pirates, you have to offer a better, more convenient service than they do.
