Tencent is probably the least worrying Chinese company. Only 8.5% of it is owned by Chinese people, none by the Chinese government, and the rest are foreign investment firms in the US, Europe, Singapore, etc. The majority shareholder isn’t even Chinese, it’s a South African media conglomerate. They’re effectively

Yeah, if anybody’s gonna hand over Americans’ personal data to an out of control surveillance state without legal grounds, oversight, due process, consent, or transparency, then it better be American companies to the American government!

I saw your episode of Granny Shaggers!

Damn you people for making me defend something Trump does or says ... but yeah—cut off Tencent root & branch, and let it die with any luck. So long as the CCP can hijack Chinese companies with impunity to advance its own purposes, those Chinese companies need to be ground into dust on the global market.

Just have my mom home by 11 please.

That’s how it works? I’ve been going twice plus seven!

“Alas, my ship—whom I love like a woman—is...disabled. (oh, lord)

The Warburton Tick is a good comparison.
It’d be a little bit Cheers, a little bit The Office, a good chunk of The IT Crowd, with an occasional truly batshit Star Trek sci-fi weirdness to contend with. Our characters wouldn’t be solving those sci-fi problems, they’re just coping with them while trying to do their dumb

Huge fan of Futurama, but hadn’t heard about a TNG episode being on deck (though totally unsurprising).

“Sign it to Melllvar. ‘Melllvar’ has 3 L’s.

I kinda wish the Futurama writers got to tackle a similar episode with the TNG cast.  There were rumors they had one on the books for a later season but it never panned out.

We already saw what the writers of Futurama were capable of with Star Trek and it was...really great. Just an all-time classic episode, really.

Yeah, the first episode of this sucked pretty hard. Loud, frantic, noisy and annoying show’s overriding tone. The dialogue is delivered in such a ridiculously rapid fire fashion, as if to disguise the fact that it’s not actually clever or funny or worth listening to.

“I’ve got a blender and some *much* better booze. If we’re going to start day-drinking we should do it right”

Allison is a woman after my own heart.

Pedantism ON

This is probably my favorite episode of the season (I’m up to 9 now), along with next episode. Unusual for a Netflix series to be at its best in the middle of the season, but this show really excels when all the siblings are together.

The rankings were never about power but about usefulness to Reginald. This is why Luther is Number 1 - he was the most obedient.

I’m not sure if it’s mentioned as such in show, I don’t recall, but in the comics he’s actually doing micro-jumps through time which give the appearance of teleportation. In the comics he has also been infused with the DNA of the best killers in history as well. Really, he’s the most powerful of the siblings in the

Paul Dini literally married Zatanna — he has no need for anyone else.
