While at the same time, since you’re trying to make them as realistic as possible, much of the charm and more fantastical scenes are lost to the grounded restrictions of ambitious realism.

Franky, dignifying these remakes by ranking them assumes that any of them were any good. Granted, I heard the Jungle Book and Pete’s Dragon were actually decent but at least the Jungle Book had been adapted many times before, before and after the Disney animated classic, so it’s a story that’s been told throughout…
I’m pretty sure the accepted theory, currently, is that it’s Halbrand who is Sauron in disguise. He all but tells it when Galadriel outs him as the lost king of the Southlands who united the tribes, which she was right, but not to fight against the servants of Morgoth but as the servants of Morgoth.
I have to agree, I don’t mind the lighthearted tone but that the jokes just don’t really register. They’re pretty broad and generic. Like we haven’t seen the bad dates gag a million times in other shows/rom-coms.
Yeah, I think it’s just more Wong learning to cut loose once in a while and Madisynn was the perfect companion for that.
At least they’re consistent.
Are they ever going to let her character’s powers be more than a walking flashbang?
Oh, are we still talking about Jennifer Lawrence these days? I thought that pretty much ended with Dark Phoenix.
tbh, I kinda want to live in that world
I like spaghetti. I just don’t like calling it spaghetti. I prefer just ‘pasta’ with sauce.
Great list but any chance to plug the animated series Arcane. It’s beautiful. The characters are engaging and the voice acting is solid.
Same
Or a 6-minute hug. Anytime I see a header pic of Brendan Fraser, I can’t help but want to give him a hug.
If I recall, it did not end well.
Also, wouldn’t killing Vicerys off during the hunt just be retreading Robert Borathian’s fate in the first season of GoT’s?
Naming her heir was never going to turn out well in her favor. Either Viceryis would renege on his promise and make his first born son heir to the throne or whomever Rhaenerys married would become king and as queen, she’d still be second fiddle.
Also, what of Viserys’s nasty lesions? I thought for sure it was going to play a bigger part as time went on and perhaps even hint at the greystone disease but after a 2-3 jump, the king looks completely fine. I guess the maggots worked?
It’s political maneuvering and intrigue set in fantasy/medievel time with a sometimes unhealthy dose of sex and carnage. Part of what made GoT’s so great was the acting and the main cast in particular.
but the magic was in YOU all along
What if they were the same person, like the Lazarus effect?
