I wholeheartedly agree on the first point.

I disagree insofar as the show really amped up the soundtrack and cinematography whenever he was making bold policy moves to make him see heroic, and the show never suggests that-say-AMWORKS is anything but a good idea, bound to be successful if only Congress would give it a chance.

The moment it started to seem like this show actually thought Underwood was a hero and not an anti-hero (or, really, the villain), I just couldn't sustain interest.

Any lawyer experienced in document review (the bane of junior associate legal work) will quickly learn that people put amazing things in work emails — their dreams, sappy notes to their family members, details of their affairs, and (of course) horribly racist and sexist things.
