Overrated: Term for when you don’t like something that’s popular. Term that doesn’t exist because there’s no objective “good” rating that can be given to anything.

Quite an Edgelord opinion you have there bro. It’s only been about 18 months since the game came out, I’m sure that shiny newness will wear off any day now .... any day ...

Can I reuse this?

on one hand, I agree. on the other, there’s an entire other ecosystem largely divorced from the world of traditional reporting that’s *actually* keeping him relevant, and I doubt that this post’s existence has much bearing on that. so in this particular instance, I figure why not make fun of this extremely 2018 farce

Most “purchases” now days are just very long term rentals. When they decide to shut down the download or game servers say goodbye to playing YOUR game.

I get where you’re coming from, but this is a false equivalency. The venn diagram overlap between “owns or would own a PS4" and “owns(d) a PS3" is probably quite large, since it was a direct line of succession. The only reason you’d still own a PS3 over a PS4 is because you can’t afford to upgrade it yet. DAI being

Do you have any data to support that 85% of 3DS have been mothballed and the other 15% are Pokemon only devices?

Yes, I saw that. My comment is towards the ‘...but Discord doesn’t want partners to have them...’ part of the report. The behavior is typical of a startup that’s either been bought, or is looking to get bought.

People waste times in lots of unique ways.

I really thought this was going to end in the dealer turning up either 4 clubs or 4 diamonds giving Labatt the flush, or a 9-10-J-Q giving Labatt and Zhu a split pot straight.

Suck an egg, dweeb.

People don’t sign on to be victims of evil overlords in real life, what’s your point?

So we’re at a point in society where you need consent to play games the way you want.

They consented the moment they decided to play a multiplayer game with these features.

you mean, less than 2 years.

As an Android user I look forward to google pushing this initiative SUPER hard for a year and then completely abandoning it

As someone who has put extensive time into the 3DS versions of Pokémon Rumble World, Pokémon Picross, and over 400 hours into Pokémon Shuffle, Pokémon Quest might be the worst FTS game the brand has put out. It is flat out terrible in every way.

Game makers have completely forgotten the “always leave them wanting more” axiom, and have gotten into the “how many hours can we pack into this game” arms race instead.

To be fair... the “death from over work” (Karoshi) ‘line’ is just 60 hours per week of work. I say “just” because I’m an attorney at an American firm, and I (and most people I know) regularly work more than 60 hours per week on average.
