I feel it’s like this:

It’s less the character, really, as it is the gameplay that makes this fighter so compelling.”

Simon definitely had brown hair in Super Castlevania IV. He kinda did in the original Castlevania as well, though. But the cover of the American versions (both of them) did have him look kinda close to the Smash iteration.

Sorry, yeah. Rabid comments are from users on Twitter and Reddit.

Minecraft is programmer art”

When it comes to Microsoft related characters, I would have preferred Ori.

Steve has much, much more robust possibilities for a moveset”

Yeah, I had never been in a WoW expansion beta that had felt this broken this close to release before. And for reference, I’ve participated in every WoW beta except for Cataclysm. This is a good move, and only surprises me in that I kinda expected it to go live in a broken state.

It doesn’t even have to be so drastic. Have him use the cleaner texture that is used on the official Minecraft media, and then give him elbow and knee joints so he can be animated better. He’d still INSTANTLY be recognizable, but would fit a lot better.

So, I just had a quick search of official Minecraft related media. It turns out that Steve in those media pictures actually does use a cleaner texture than the one being used in Smash. And giving him knee and elbow joints for animation purposes wouldn’t make him unrecognizable. Would it betray the Minecraft aesthetic

I’m just not a fan of the art style.”

As someone said in the fast moving chat in the live reveal: “Should have just been a Mii costume.”

These guys are hilarious! I think that they get asked questions and think to themselves “Hmm, never even thought of that. Lets just come up with something odd on the spot.” Like “Oh yeah, they’re 6 feet tall, btw!” or “Quick, Bob, draw up a weird skeleton inside the body and we’ll call it official. Have fun with it,

To answer that question: probably because all the depictions of those deities created actually looked like those people. I mean, it’s not actually an assumption to think they look a specific way when they are shown to actually look that way.

“How dare you be happy when others are sad!” kind of mentalities aren’t helping anything, though.

As Buddhist zombies, they will show you that “existence is suffering”.

“No normal dogs, only Nintendogs!!”

Yeah, just sounded like a overdone “Long” in a faux-Italian accent. “So long-ah Bowser!” but with the “ah” sounding a bit more like “eh”, partway between, really.

Hah, same. As I was picking up the one from the Epic store, I thought to myself “Didn’t I already get this one free?” Checking my Epic games I only saw Watch Dogs 1, though. I forgot about UPlay...

I’d bet that a lot of the “outrage” came from people not of that culture who are “outraged on behalf of them”.
