LMAO, overgeneralization of the century. Yeah, I guess Miata owners specifically WANT an underpowered, overpriced drop top 2 seater and no one in history has decided they just want an affordable small, lightweight and nimble car as a basis for maximizing performance?

Oh wait. How are these sites in business then?

There’s far more to that than what you’re making of it. If you’re properly investing your revenue and capital funding into expanding your business capacity then you can take losses and be better off for it.

I’d say opening a $2 billion dollar factory in China is a worthy enough investment to dip into earnings a bit.

Tes

Profit is a funny thing though. If you could split out the true cost of JUST their current car lineup’s production, support/maintenance costs and sales earnings you may find that they are quite profitable. Profitable enough perhaps for the internal board to justify cutting prices on their models to increase sales

36 more HP doesn’t cut it when you’re already starting down at 150 ponies at $25k. That’s why it failed, in 2004 you could get a WRX for less than that. Seems like the same problem today with the BRZ. Yeah, 35 more hp in the next generation sounds great until you realize once again it still will cost the same as a WRX

It literally ruins the car. I see that interior and it makes me think I gotta wear matching diabetic tennis shoes to drive the Model 3

Not necessarily, one can easily sell more of stuff by ignoring profit and lowering the price and accepting losses.

Nothing is really wrong with tesla’s business model, they are just making choices to invest and expand continuously into R&D and expanded capacities outside of JUST manufacturing their cars. They seem

short-run, yes but long term they are looking to see if the whole EV technology can evolve to a state where it can truly disrupt ALL of the automotive industry. If it can and does, I think investors will go all in even if the Tesla brand itself fails to capture dominating market share. Tesla’s real strength is that

Well, their car sales is probably only a small % of the reasoning investors have for buying their stock. Their intellectual property/technology as a whole is worth far far more and tesla has invested tremendously in R&D and component manufacturing capability with the assumed goal of being able to supply batteries and

well the point of a company going public and entering the stock market is to raise funding to grow the business and investors choose to invest in growth companies not because of how large they are, but how large they can become. Investors so far feel confident that Tesla in the long-term can out perform GM. I might

but traders specifically invest in such companies because they feel the market opportunity is large enough for them to keep growing.  It’s not even a catch 22, companies go public in order to raise capital so that they can invest and grow their business.  Tesla will be a main-stream car manufacturer and given their

I’m RD4 to try the R34 vs the R35 in GT8 on my PS5

Not bad, just wish Mazda would get with the times and have a version of the MX5 with ~250 hp off the lot. With the mazdaspeed 3 virtually dead, why not do a MazdaSpeed MX5? I think a lot of folks would pay up to $35k for a more hunkered down and speedy Miata. I would, would be a GREAT alternative to trying to find a

Except in 50 and 100 years we will have come full circle with the climate crisis so few people will be “chilled”.  I get your point but lost time is lost time.

at $133,000 dollars, just buy the stinger and hire someone to make you a custom body kit and turbo upgrade kit to match the look and specs.  You’ll save like 70,000 bucks for an equally equipped car...

$133,000 bucks! Can we all agree that car prices are absolutely insane these days and the Automotive industry has zero place to complain about the declining sales of sedans and sports cars vs. SUVs?

Sports car sales are waning. This is why, yes, it’s a great car, addictive I’m sure. But these things were nearly $70,000 bucks with no real niceties. Imagine the SUV you can buy these days for 70 grand! You’d get the works including a way more aggressive engine with a lot more power.  These had/have zero storage,

Sad that the sports car segment is doing so poorly but I feel all pricing strategies are way way off save for the dang mustang.

SUV’s just dominate the market in terms of price value right now. If you got $50,000 bucks to throw at a new car you can really get a far superior vehicle in terms of interior luxury, bells

well, antique plates can be given to any replicar in many states. Factory Five kits mostly get antique plates in my state of NC. That’s not what it’s crack pipe, the kit is designed for a ford V8 and transmission, I’d have to figure out the chassis mods and how well they were done to accommodate the different engine

If the power increase includes a lot more torque then the car will be awesome. The Original USDM WRX had 227 hp and 217 ft-lbs...few complained. It was a full second quicker to 60 than the BRZ is today.

Put that much power & tq in the BRZ which weighs several hundred lbs less and I think you’d see 0-60 at just over 5
