It had to Ferry to Italy to fulfill a contract with a Travel Agency. It was in the article. So no, they wouldn’t cancel the flight, they only sold tickets to try to make SOME money off the ferry journey.

There are tons of ferry flights that take place with empty planes for many different reasons.  It’s just rare that

Tesla’s overall balance might show 4b in the red still...and that’s a lot. But they have been hitting quarterly profits now for two quarters in a row and is looking like they’ll be profitable again this quarter.

If trends continue, they could wipe out all debt and be fully profitable by the end of 2020. Not terrible

It can also just mean you issued too much stock at the wrong ratio right?

So many companies own a revenue stream that doesn’t cover expenses. In some cases, that’s actually what investors want because they want growth. Ask a Tesla stock owner. If you’re a small startup with an idea that can potentially take the company on a path to where they outsell BMW...you’d hope they take every dollar

It’s commonplace nowadays for sure but yeah, all it means is that the company has to sell more shares (a higher %) of itself to fund it’s growth and operations and there are other ways to get funding.

Spot on dude. BUT I sadly think Subaru will be like volvo and power everything by 4 bangers. The 6 cylinder is probably gone for good.

I think the pressure to upgrade the STI should be more about brand image than sales - they sell more WRX’s and STI’s now than ever which is nuts.

This is actually all very good information. There could and should be a trip recommendation engine that combines passengers needs with this type of data to recommend the most beneficial travel option.

As a parent who frequently drives from NC to Florida for vacation (13 hour drive one way) to visit family, we juggle

I don’t think he’s denying science.  He’s just saying he doesn’t care.

Most of that is logistics. Planning routes with the right aircraft at the right times so the planes fly full more of the time.

...and yet it works very well at saving fuel.

Now, if trains were fully loaded, there would be no comparison. Trains are by far the most fuel efficient means of transportation per ton of cargo

True, however I have seen some cars come with painted center hubs for their brake rotors...yet the calipers are unpainted.

I feel that enough buyers just don’t care so it doesn’t happen unless it’s a more premium car. There’s almost zero benefit performance wise and if people don’t care...

The funny thing is you don’t have to mask them at all.  Brake pads are pretty abrasive.  I clean them off with brake parts cleaner and then just spray ‘em aiming for the center hub and then for the outer ridge.  Some gets on the swept area...who cares.  The paint is scraped off by the brake pads easier than rust.  For

the SEC’s request is a breach of Musk’s constitutional right to free speech.

It’s a tragedy on two levels. We all know, given the competition the STI now has at it’s price point, that the base model STI should have at least 350 HP and an engine that can handle it.

I’m hopeful, but still yet to be confident that the next generation STI will sport an upgraded version of the 2.4 turbo engine from

So true. A buddy of mine once spent a fortune with a local subaru tuner shop building what he was convinced...mostly by the shop guys but also himself...to be the ultimate subaru engine:

Might not be as bad as it seems. Those clutches are more like the hydraulic actuators found in a traditional automatic than the dry clutch friction setup in a dual clutch or auto where the clutch is actually a wear item.

When was the last time you had to replace an actuator in your automatic transmission?

This is basically a traditional auto slushbox with standard cogs instead of planetary gear sets.  I love it actually, great solution.  You could get the same speed out of a traditional automatic but it will be much larger and heavier, I think Koenigsegg picked this method because of the size and heat benefits.

I’m fairly certain the outback will have the 2.4 turbo, it’s all but confirmed for 2020. The Legacy is already confirmed to be getting the 2.4 turbo.

Soon enough, all cars will be electric with no transmission at all. We’ll be nostalgic for transmissions!

As others have said, the rusing of the brake’s swept area itself is fine and easily removed but I too hate when the center hub section rusts. No car ever should have bare iron rotors these days, it’s far too easy to coat/paint the center section so they don’t rust and heck, you can coat the outer rim as well.

I
