Snow tires are great, but a set with wheels will cost you as much as the upgrade to AWD and need to be installed....the installation thing is the kicker. How many ‘regular’ folks south of the snow belt ACTUALLY will be cool with having to store tires in their homes somewhere year round much less actually getting

No, I think it would sell quite well. The SUV/Crossover takeover is (mostly) complete. A focused SUV model like this will outsell focused sports-car models like the Miata 5:1 at minimum in this market.

oh I agree, my post was in response to a more general question about turbo 4 bangers in general. They stated “I don’t buy the claim that 4 cylinders work harder than V6's or V8's to make the same HP”.

In regards to this actual article, you’re spot on.

It has more to do with what happens to fuel and air when it’s compressed and what you have to do to prevent ping/knock/detonation and pre-ignition.

...well apologies if I misunderstood. Both your comments sound like you are calling BS on my claims about the corvette sales. Especially the 1st one, I claimed that BMW lost “all” (meaning most) of their customers who cared about power and your reply was that you owned a 600hp BMW...as if to prove me wrong with your

...yes, In the United States - the worlds largest Car Market, the Corvette out-sells the Porsche 911 at at least 2x every single year...most years it’s more like 3x.

It depends on what ‘performance’ metrics you talk about not mattering. For sales, they matter very much...well a few of them do.

Well, I’m looking at US sales figures only. But yeah if you include the 4 series you’re right that the BMW lineup edges out the mustang. Still pretty astounding though how close they are and how close they are each year too. I think it says more about the car market as a whole.

You’re not making sense, the Corvette CRUSHES the 911 in sales in the US by nearly 3x.

They are profits that are difficult to make when you barely sell enough of something to break even.

That’s correct, only because BMW lost all the customers who do care about power. And most sports car enthusiasts still care about it...That’s why Camaro & Mustang outsell EVERY other sports/sporty car in the market by extremely wide margins.

Oh wow, that fixes it doesn’t it?

Given the tendency for countries to double down on purchasing these things after secret meetings and demonstrations, I think the F-35 is likely to be the subject of a massive reverse propaganda campaign....call me crazy but it just doesn’t add up.

Porsche sells 3,000 caymans per year in the US. It’s the benchmark car that Toyota is aiming against with the new Supra

Toyota completely canceled the FJ cruiser when the 10-year old design began selling as few as...wait for it...15,000 units per year.

I’m not sure if Toyota knows this, but their car is heavier, uglier

The only thing more laughable than selling a small Japanese sports car with 200hp for 25k in 2018 is selling one with 325 hp starting at FIFTY THOUSAND dollars in 2019. It works to some degree because they are fun to drive...but the term “sales success” doesn’t come to mind ever with this strategy.

But Miata” “But

Can someone make a rule that revokes someone’s famousness entirely so we never have to hear from them again?

Lohan looks and sounds like she’s already lived 50 years as a drug-addicted alcoholic chain smoking disaster BTW.

You know the easiest way to stop illegal immigration? Make it safe and legal for people seeking refuge or a better life to legally enter the country, document themselves, pay taxes, swear an oath to the constitution and our laws and then control, through compromise where they are allowed to go in the US, what they are

Color me stupid....but I think Kia COULD get a 3-5% sales bump if they just introduce a wagon variant of the Stinger...

I for one would already own one if they did. But I can’t justify ditching my two (although aging) wagons both of which offering more utility for a compromised design.

Nice solution to a rear-engine problem.  Coulda’ just made the car mid-engined duh lol.
