Re: In the Heat of the Night: I heartily recommend Pictures at a Revolution by Mark Harris, about the 1967 Best Picture nominees. Lots of interesting stuff, and horrific anecdotes about Doctor Dolittle. If I remember correctly the A.V. Club liked it as well.
