I for one liked the contrast between Scott and Reggie and Cudi ( black and white, cool and uncool, styles of humor, etc.) that made all of the more absurd things more palatable or even magnified the affect.

I feel like the episodes that are in the future are the best ones, mainly because they deliver on the basest promise of the show: multiple "heroes" fighting each other with cool powers.
