The lion has purred.

It does, but if you look at photos of the first electric-start Cadillacs from 1911 they also have "dummy" hand crank pins. It's possible there was no provision for hand cranking on this car because it was a luxury car unlike later Chevys. For comparison, the Model T didn't adopt electric start until 1920.

The story is less compelling when we discover his bad transmission linkage is completely unrelated to a monster tornado.

Looks like the hand crank starter mechanism. Perhaps the "convenience" start mechanism (for the Classic Six, compressed-air or electric) mounts on the casing and the hand crank passes through it.

Wow. Somebody thought that was a good idea.

Normally I'm a sucker for a 510. But something was bothering me about this one, and I realized it's the driver's side mirror. It's a like T-Rex arm, or one of Grimace's hands. So creepy.

It's unavoidable, even on Jalopnik.

Setting up MG like this was definitely a smart move. The Brits know the brand. Hopefully, the new owners will give them enough cash to make a go of it. A few superminis and an ancient roadster is a familiar lineup for MG, but it will sink them again.

It's worth a try, but that's a rough pitch. If only nerdcore rappers made more bank.

Agreed. I think it's pretty hilarious, but I would be somewhat frightened to drive it without a fire extinguisher handy.

Someday, Porsches will be lighter than the non-sequential unmarked yuan used to buy them.

I hope I survive long enough to see the day that MGs are highly-regarded and highly-collectible Chinese sports cars. Ming Garages anyone?

The DBS is evening wear at a Monte Carlo casino. The TZ3 is a thong on the Riviera. To each their own, higher powers willing.

It just needs the right kind of buyer. For the right kind of hipster in Brooklyn, or a filmmaker working on the right kind of movie, this Pinto is gold.

The cost implications for Ford of "jumping the gun" on a fix can be huge. This is why Sony took five whole days to respond to customers about the Playstation hack. Five minutes to realize what the problem is, and a business week to consult with the legal team to find the solution that best preserves investor

This is what American buyers want. Donk on Sunday, sell on Monday.

5th gear: Zipcar has made only $1.3 million in a single quarter. Aside from that they've posted net losses thus far on account of a huge buying spree. They are most definitely not making money yet.
