@Jstas has gas!: The latest Bridgestone commercial (Slip Slidin' Away) uses crash footage that includes a Scrambler getting crunched by a sliding Taurus. It's very sad.
Oh yeah! It's time to going skiing with all our e-cars. This is rad-i-cal!
Brand corrosion for Petzl.
Giggedy-giggedy-ghibli.
Mini is slowly juking us all.
Audis and oozing. It's like coffee and cars, but with more fluid exchange.
Hunter orange is the new douche black.
@FodderTheSane: With angel eyes.
Wait a second here. 19-inch wheels on a Civic? The same Civic that has no torque?
This region is strong with negative camber.
The cool thing about $1,000 Toyotas is that even six months after the purchase, it still starts every day without protest. Sure, it might split in half, but combustion occurs.
@Crash Bandihoon prefers the Joslin Junk Picker over the Dragon Wertamino: The GTI is still a great buy. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing they are differentiating between the sport and vanilla models. As long as the sport models keep living at fairly reasonable prices.
@Crash Bandihoon prefers the Joslin Junk Picker over the Dragon Wertamino: The 6th-gen Jetta is torsion beam as part of the cost-cutting. But you're right, the IRS of the 5th-gen is an anomaly in the history of the nameplate. I guess the GLI/GTI will keep the fancier suspension bits.
What was the outcome of the Mini-E project? The cars seemed successful. Any plans for an electric Mini production run?
Part of the $7K savings is due to exchange rates from having the car built at VW's new Tennessee plant.
@A Caving Ape: The main limitation in portable flywheels is the casing. It's a vacuum environment, and if it's compromised, the flywheel would fail. Carbon fiber disintegrates, of course, but would result in a searingly hot pile of molten sand.
@GasGuzzler: I tend to agree. The Pentastar, QuadraTrac systems, and new interior/exterior design add up to a pretty decent product.
@slowcarfast: Yeah, those Ford V4s were not well balanced. Think of it this way: you never gave the Alfa a chance to break your heart.
@Paul Dmytrewycz: True, there are few options out there. Saab makes one. GM used to offer the Ecotec turbo, and will soon offer it again in Buicks. The Audi/VW turbo is pretty under-stressed at 200 hp... it's easily tuned higher by Audi for sports models. Hyundai makes one for the Genesis and Sonata Turbo.
