i've been describing it as false meaningfulness. I feel like it deceives it's audience into thinking it is an intelligent and meaningful film. Truth is he wrote that before Mad Men and possibly Sopranos, before he really honed his style.

Guys, Matthew Weiner made a film starring Owen Wilson, Zach Galifianakis and Amy Poehler and I saw it and it was really bad. Be glad Mad Men is not this bad. In fact its excellent!
