I was all ready to chuckle at this, but then y'all played it straight. The tone of this is all wrong.

100% agreement from me. It felt like color-by-number Oscar-bait. It was especially jarring since I saw the Stephen Hawking one just a few months ago - which I'd say is quite a lot better. It was marvelously understated, at least, while The Imitation Game pounds its thesis into us with a mallet.
You need to go read the The First Law trilogy right now. It is so much better than his stand-alone books. It's in my all-time top ten - just bloody brilliant.
Ah, I see, sorry to hear that :( besides the occasional bit of cringe-worth dialogue in the animated sections I just loved it. But I haven't seen the original. Has it held up alright?
That's an oddly vehement opinion. I agree that he can occasionally come across as pandering, but it's hard to get upset about that when considering how very much more he knows than than I do.
It's inevitable and I'm excited for it.
Assassin's Apprentice (and the two books after it) are the best entry point for sure. She halfway tries to explain things in later books, like when an author pretends someone reading the 4th book in their series if a first-time reader, but she's terrible at it. There's a broad range of books set in different areas of…
Ah, that's likely true. Thanks.
Now THAT is true to the game
Then become a screenwriter. Go and change it. Unless tearing down a franchise I love (and that it's obvious you jerkoffs know nothing about) on a pop culture site's comments is the full extent of your activism?
…wat? I've been on the AVC for years. And I'm in full support of equal representation. This just isn't the time or place. And it especially annoys me when it's clear that the poster is talking about representation mostly because they have nothing else to add to the conversation.
I hate to repeat myself, but why are you here if you don't care about Warcraft? This movie is the story of the First War. Based on the 1994 game is exactly what it is.
"My" game? Why are you here if you don't care about Warcraft? Why does your agenda make your opinion relevant to things you don't care about?
Nope. She's a quest giver in Cataclysm. She's a major character with as much plot-armor as anyone else.
This is a movie based on a game that came out TWENTY years ago. No, it's not a sign of the times. Think a little before trotting out the agenda.
Because we already have. Go play Super Paper Mario. You fight Luigi several times.
I would say you poor sods are looking at 10 books, minimum, to be finished by Brandon Sanderson in 2030ish.
I heartily concur. The characters are caricatures and the humor occasionally sinks to "hey, a nerdy reference!", but the cast is great and they almost always bring some genuine humor out of the material.
You Won't BELIEVE How Cute These Kittens Are!
Yes, but not the kind of capitalism anybody actually wants. Monopoly laws exist because a monopoly hurts everyone - even the corporations that are too short sighted to see it.
