I dont get why it costs so much. In my shop, I could throw something like that together in less than 2 days with about $60 in materials. The direct drive motor can be picked up for $300 while the speed controller is another ~$100. The battery, which would probably be a LiFePo4 36 volt 10 amp hour which is around the
