I agree with this. I think motorized bikes should have license plates and I think it might be good if we had a way to use speed cameras on bike lanes in a fair way. But we are definitely going to find out how to police this, because like you said it is already the wild west and it’s going to get worse.

These are great examples for where ebikes can really benefit many.

Agreed. I purchased a Bafang BBSHD kit (like pictured above) and commuted on nice days. 10 miles each way to work, and on days with heavy traffic I know I’m quicker than driving.

I ride an ebike. Home built using an old specialized trail bike. I love it. Ride it every day, use it for commuting. 30mph, 15-20 mile range (I live 2.5 miles from work). It saves a ton of money, and is really enjoyable. I have a regular bike too, but almost never ride it anymore.

Cheaper e-bikes generally use hub motors while the pricier ones usually opt for mid-drive motors. Mid-drives have more torque so they are better in hilly applications, while hub motors are generally better for top speed. I have a Bafang BBSHD mid-drive on one of my bikes and a generic hub motor on the other.

“runs out at what we call Ferrari revs, so around 9500 rpm.”

Yeah I know the risks with the lipo cells, seen model jet turbines crash and burn and it ain’t the Jet A1 that causes the trouble! I did suspect there would be purpose built stuff for bikes around but I have model experience and have used some big motors for other purposes as they are very capable.

Now that’s an EV I could fit in my apartment and even charge!

That would change my life, too

My life has forever changed since I bought this sucker. Seriously.

China has been running on mostly hub-motor ebikes for years. In the last 5 or 6 years it’s been almost entirely scooters, no pedals. Half of the people at my job ride them. So does basically every delivery driver carrying things smaller than a microwave.

F9s content continues to get better and better with every released video. This is on par with Top Gear production quality at its prime with stunning writing to match.

Because that would turn a $5,000 trailer into a $50,000 trailer while also halving the payload it could carry.

It’s no longer an option package, it’s included in the system that comes on the car. At least for the newest generation of vehicles including the 3 Series and X7. Essentially, it’s now just standard.

Apple has previously confirmed it does not charge automakers. The only cost involved is from the initial integration into the automaker’s system development, which I’m sure is the same or close to the same for every company.

Waiting for the statute of limitations to expire. It was done in 2013, but only released this year.

They waited until after the statutory limits have expired?

The result was a trip average speed of 103 mph, with a max speed of 193 mph.

The dude’s name is “Berkeley Chadwick”?  #FakeNews

They should have a segment called “Ow! My Balls!”
