them not having even their own shows seems insane

its certainly not always true but as the example with cravetv they are owned by bell who owns the rights to hbo programs in canada. they dont put new or currently running hbo things and when you contact them about they say to get hbo canada on cable.

its because they were owned by cable companies so new seasons were not allowed. hell, cravetv doesnt even have any seasons of HBO shows currently airing. even old seasons.
