Yes! Salem Mall forever. My dad and I would always go there in the early to mid-90s because it was close to Dayton Center Court where my dad always played tennis. And I think my dad just didn't like crowds. By that time, you certainly weren't going to find them at the Salem Mall. They also had that huge 5 or 6 screen

Southland Tales for me. It's a total mess, but it's so much fun! Bai Ling's shit acting. The Rock acting like The Rock. Justin Timberlake's lip synching scene. I watched it again recently and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oh man, I did once watch a Tyler Perry film, and it was exactly as bad as I expected. I had no idea the production would be so amateur, though. It was a great experience!

Vincent is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. It deserves to be in this feature. Even the concept of writing a song about Van Gogh is preposterous.

His charisma certainly won me over!

You are talking to the regretful owner of a Circus Devils album.

Totally with you. I'm totally disinterested in talking about baby boomer music. To act like nothing has equaled or surpassed the heavy hitters of that era is ridiculous. Then to dig down to Rush seems even more preposterous.

This article would have really worked better for me if Rush were not its centerpiece. Guided by Voices would be the most interesting to me, although I don't think they've ever released a particularly bad album (something that cannot be said of Bob Pollard solo).

The Afghan Whigs remain my favorite band all these years later. I'm kind of surprised you didn't know them. Up In It (which was just kind of okay and not that similar to their later style) came out in 1990, Congregation (flat out brilliant) in 1992 and their masterpiece Gentlemen in 1993. And fucking Uptown Avondale,

TV: Archer and Justified by far. Soured on Community and Parks & Rec substantially thanks to their ever increasingly mawkishness.
