I strongly feel that GBV's albums were never as good after Tobin Sprout's departure. Despite having the world's most twee name, that guy can write a song, and his compositions always were a nice counterpoint to Pollard's tracks. Thrilled to have them collaborating on this. Airport 5 was good, but this is much better.

Vampire on Titus is not getting enough attention here. I'm naming it my second favorite GBV album, trailing only Bee Thousand.

Isolation Drills is the better album, but Teenage FBI knocks my socks off.

He played a show in Shanghai a couple years ago, and it was one of the most unimpressive shows I've ever attended. Might have had something to do with music being played off an iPod. Still excited to see some more songs from him, but I definitely have no enthusiasm for seeing him live again.

The Pusher trilogy is just brutal. I watched it, enjoyed it, and never intend to think about it again.

Ohio represent! Over the Rhine was a great band for a long time.

I just watched the Deep Space Nine episode "Whispers" this morning. I found it to be totally awesome and weirdly askew for a Star Trek episode. Anyone else have any thoughts about it? I strongly want to talk about it.

George Michael's response to his uncle teabag was perfect.

You're wrong about two things here. 1. Stranger in a Strange Land (Bai Ling! Magic tattoos!) is the worst episode. 2. Lost is not a great show. Overall, it's a steaming pile of feces.

Coincidentally, I just watched that episode over the weekend. While it was generally atrocious, I liked what it did for Quark's character and was key for making the Ferenghi more interesting.

I'd love to know your thoughts on Voyager. I just finished watching TNG and am running through DS9 now. I never watched Voyager (or much of DS9 for that matter). Everything I've read indicates that it's terrible.

This makes me want some chocolate. Aaaaack!

It pains me that you did not include the Afghan Whigs' Gentlemen. It remains my favorite album. Every song is on it. I will never hear My Curse enough times.
