That’s annoyed me as well though. It seems backwards from how things should/would normally be done. Why not get their back end in order first, and then roll out the new POS readers? That way customers don’t just get used to the things being there but not working and constantly having to guess which to go for.

I’ve never heard of or experienced getting bank charges when using a debit card as debit with PIN in a store. That sounds more like an issue with a specific bank taking advantage of its customers. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, what banks are doing it?

3/6 There were five Stark kids plus Jon Snow.

Nonsense, it’s no question at all. 100 duck-sized horses, every time. Do you know how big a horse is? A horse sized duck would murder you so fast. Meanwhile, duck sized horses could be menacing (those bitty hoofs would probably pack a nasty little punch, and a bitty horse bite would probably hurt) but you’d at least

Oh god. That sounds incredibly awful. I’ve had the situation where I’ve bumped into (figuratively) the same cute girl repeatedly while doing my shopping and exchanged little smiles. I always wondered if I should have tried to start a conversation, and now I think I can put that to rest, thanks to you.

“sea water purified through a filter”

Haha.

If anything, that makes him worse, not better. We don’t celebrate traitors for their contributions before their betrayal of their country. Benedict Arnold did quite a bit of good and was injured in the line of duty on the American side of the Revolutionary war. Then he was exposed attempting to surrender West Point to

I excel in every area. At least, all the ones that matter. Of course, I define the ones that matter as the ones I excel at...

That’s one of the perks of my job. I frequently spend days without any communication with another human at work beyond a passing nod. On a site with around 5000 employees. It’s wonderful. I can just come in, be productive (or not) and go home, and my lead checks in anywhere from days apart to a month apart.

In my experience, some of the worse headaches were a result of people trying to ‘fix’ a mistake themselves.

  • Don’t wear see-through leggings without underwear. This won’t set off security alarms but you will make everyone around you deeply uncomfortable.

This was my thought. Regardless of this particular case/issue, it makes no sense to me to have a law on the books that will only be used to go after people who are committing other crimes. That same logic could be used in any manner of abusive ways that wouldn’t be tolerated, and only works here because what these

This reminds me of when I played Medal of Honor: Allied Assault way back in the day. You had these very flat obstacles, so snipers would find the ones that were exactly the right height so that only their helmet showed. Or worse, little gaps where only about three pixels of the sniper were visible from even moderate

Whoa now. That’s an insult to prostitutes, who are far more respectable, on average.

I almost felt bad not telling our pediatrician at his six month checkup

The only reason little things like the eyepatch get through is because the cracker that created the pirate copy didn’t care enough to ‘fix’ it. Many developers have put in measures to crash the game, or otherwise render it unplayable if it detects tampering. But it’s impossible to make such a thing that can’t be

This whole idea that the superdelegate structure has given Clinton a false sense of a lead which means that people are just voting for her because they want to vote for a winner is a direct insult to the people that have voted for her because they actuallywant her to be President. Especially because people tend not to

This is brilliantly written. I’m at work, where breaking into hysterical laughter is frowned upon, so now I’ve got tears in my eyes and tooth marks in my finger from trying to stifle myself. I was only marginally successful, so now I should probably do some real work before someone comes to investigate. Thanks.

Yep. Looking at his election results, maybe things are (very slowly) changing. His lead has been shrinking consistently each election. There’s over 4 million people in the county (fourth largest county in the country), and only about 1/3rd of them turned out in the last couple elections, but he only had an 80,000 vote
