There is no way you can sit in the theatre watching this movie and not worship!
It depends on your definition of worship. There's an emotional response that many people identify as a spiritual experience, but thinking something goes beyond simple emotion is different from demonstrating that claim.
Hillsong/Vineyard type stuff is very good at musically accomplishing what it sets out to do. It can't be faulted for knowing what it wants and going after it. Unfortunately, what it wants is an emotional experience that fosters tribal allegiances and mantra like repetition instead of true conversation.
The only thing I don't like about Blue Like Jazz is that it perpetuates the ridiculous notion that deep down atheists are mad at god instead of the god claim having failed to meet the burden of proof. But I agree it is better than a lot of christian films.
I spent a while really trying to teach myself chess and get competent at it. I really improved for a while, but it never stuck so if I took any kind of break from it at all I found myself having to start back at basics. I'm the same way with card games. I'm sure this was fascinating.
I also kind of thought there was a weird analogue to Steven's experiences in the gang's pretends. Including "fusing" into an adult and Steven having to face destroying life.

Yeah, God's a dick.
It's an incredibly sex-positive place. The rule isn't no flirting, it's no flirting with people who don't want to be flirted with. If not creeping on people who don't want it is sterilization and dull to you, yeah feel free to stay away from it.
If you are claiming women can be just as bad as men individually, I can tell you I don't have an issue with that. But what men do have are a very particular set of tendencies, tendencies they have acquired over a very long millenia of being privileged. Tendencies that make them a nightmare for people not like them.…
Ah. Makes sense. It seems weird he would talk like sibling is synonymous with family abuse and other kinds of abuse are outside the family. Most abuse is from some member of the family. Sibling is just even less recognized by society than parental abuse.
I hesitate to even reply, because here we are two men turning a conversation about a woman who was harassed into a conversation about whether or not men are victims of sexism. That's exactly the kind of anthrocentric hijacking of conversations that frustrates people. Nobody but you misinterpreted Adele's words to be…
I'm getting the feeling that Dan is indirectly asking me to stop pestering him about selling me his nose hairs.
There are too many people who don't revolve around me nowadays. Please eliminate three.
I'm confused. You just admitted that you twisted her words. And people have explained it to you. Why are you still defending it?
I think that lumping any set of individuals into a group is inherently negative.
oh, yeah. Typo. I have no problem with acceptance of quilt. Especially in winter.
