i grew up in Toms River in the late 70's / 80's. Spent many a summer day at Seaside. Nobody i knew would ride the thing for fear of being flung into the ocean. The Poltergeist was always the cool ride with loud music & strobe lights.
It always seemed rickety and ready to collapse. I am truly amazed it stayed intact…
