How does one even stand against The Academy?

I feel like Benicio deserves ALL the Oscars. Like, he could have a 3 second walk on where he orders a coffee and I’d be all, “GIVE THAT MAN AN OSCAR!”

Please keep in mind that your background and experiences will taint what you see as “the best”. And because the academy is 94% white and 76% men, their views are skewed. Then again, all awards are kind of bullshit, so we shouldn’t care anyways.

Anne Hathaway maybe knows something about being built up, put on a pedestal and then torn down for basically no reason. So good for her for saying something.

I just don’t understand why we arbitrarily decide some actresses are good and some are to be hated. Why? What purpose does it serve? JLaw and Anne Hathaway have done nothing wrong, yet they’re reviled.
