Gymnastics and figure skating both seem to rely on attire that accentuates aspects of the body that I would say almost tend to unnecessarily sexualize children, and they are also generally solitary sports that are often coached individually or in very small groups.

Sadly the story sounds very similar to the Rolling Stone rape hoax story. I don’t say that to gaslight the apparent victim here, just that unfortunately there is precedent for a too-awful-to-be-true story that actually turns out to be too awful to be true.
